Roof bars

OK,
Quote from LR for genuine roof bars is £120.

Quote from halfords for the Thule 761 bars plus mounting kits is £70.

Anybody found an issue with the Thule ones ?

I've got Thule aero bars and they are fine. Easy to fit and fairly quiet.

Price from Halfords looks good. Too good? Are all the bits present? I guess it's for the non aero bars.

You need three components:

Footpack 751

Adapter Kit 3027

Bars 761 (square) or 861 (aero).

Bought mine from http://www.roofbox.co.uk/

Thanks Retired.

A quick check on roofbox web sites shows,

Bars £20 (Aerobars £45)
Adapter kit £19.95
Footpack £48.85

Is there much noise difference between Aero and Square bars ?

I've had both square (Atera, wouldn't recommend) and aero (Thule) on the D3.

With a (large) roofbox on I'd say there's nothing in it. Suspect the roofbox diverts the airflow away from the bars and it's really quiet.

With bars only the aeros are quieter than the rectangular bars; but not as quiet as with the roofbox attached!

Prefer the look of the aeros.
