Roof bars top box fitting. |
|
I have the LR roof bars and they are so wide that I have nothing to fit them to my top box. I will need to drill new holes in the box but where do I get the fittings that are wide enough?
Any ideas?

Paul,
Try this link http://www.roofrackshop.co.uk/aboutus.htm.
I bought a set of wider clamps from them last week for £22 and they came next day. I haven't fitted them so can't tell you that they fit ok but they look fine to me.
The wider clamps are Karrite branded and look cheap compared to the ones I had in my Land Rover branded roof box but they should do the trick. I bevieve my box is the Thule Alpine 100 but it only says Land Rover on it.
Regards, Si

I've got a Thule box (can't remember the model, but its about 5 years old) which had U-bolt with plastic clamp on the inside. Bought the Thule T-Track roof box adapters no 697-1, from the roof box company, as in the other thread. They work really well, and there's no visible fixing from the outside. I did have to open up the fixing holes in the box by 2mm, though. Disco 5 HSE Lux
