Roof glass replacement

Hi everyone

Autoglass just replaced my panoramic roof.
The replacement glass looks a slightly odd purple colour, is this normal? It doesn’t match the front sunroof.

Thanks

Thanks,

That’s literally less helpful than not actually replying. Thumbs Up

Not much else to say. Not a big deal to leave it. If it’s stressing you have them back.

I just wondered if the original glass was the same.

No, what’s it look like from the inside as that’s about the only place you will see it.

There is certainly no harm in questioning the supplier about it!- I know I would.

Hi, our roof glass looks the same as yours, isn’t it to help reflect the sun I’m sure there is a name for type, my vans windscreen looks purple from certain angles.

Just had a quick read up, it might be because it’s laminated and the sunroof is toughened and it’s designed to reflect the uv rays and keep the car cooler.

IIRC my D3 roof glass looked like that especially in some light and as far as I am aware it was never changed especially in the 10 years I had her.
