2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Chawton White

Roof Rack Recommendations

I am looking to do a bit of outback touring and investigating roof racks that are light but will last the distance.

I have had a Tradesman Oval for some years that I got for an ARB Roof Top Tent that I never bought. It is on the heavy side and therefore a challenge to get on and off so I am looking for something lighter and hence easier to put on and off. As I am only planning to put light stuff on the roof, a high load bearing capacity is not important. The system on my D3 is the bolt on variety with four bolts down each side. From what I can see Thule do not make a rack that fits the above system. Disco 3 TDV6 HSE, Auto, White, Rear Diff Lock. ARB BB, Traxide DBS, GME TX3540S, Safari Snorkel, IIDTool-BT, Doran TPMS, Rijidij Spare Wheel Carrier, Two side by side Drifta drawers, cargo barrier and drop down fridge slide, ARB 47l Fridge, Yokohama A/Ts and out of date 17" Cooper STTs.

No probs I have a prospeed great bit of kit and the mark 2 is even better comes on and off really easy,

But I tend to keep mine on to keep SWMBO out of the multi storey car parks

+1 for Prospeed, mine is on all the time as well....the wind delector at the fron really makes any wind noise hardly nticable and no realimpact on MPG

Hi All, many thanks for your recommendations and great photos! It certainly looks the goods, which is, of course, the most important attribute.

Andy, I am interested to know how you have attached the Lightforce lights to/through your bumper, as I am tossing up whether to but a bulbar or not and trying to work out where to put lights and an ariel without a BB. Will post one to you together with some (kanga) roos that are trained to jump out in front of the car with the intent of sitting beside you or on your lap. just found a reasonably priced arb unit on fleabay. Think it was for a Toyota.... Chopped up some sections on 50x25 SHS tube and made the roof channel mounts, worked a treat. Now for a ladder
