Bobby, check the profile of the front foot against the roof to ensure it correctly follows the curve down towards the front screen. Wink
One of mine was a little straighter than it should have been and I had to warm it up with a heat gun to "persuade" it a little. Thumbs Up

FAILED

They're going back!

No pictures, sorry, I was that pee'd off, they look really good quality, first issue I found that the holes for the screws were smaller diameter than the original LR ones and the screws look like they are made of cheese

But the main issue is that they are bent too much, if I lined up the first hole after the roof step, the second one was close, but the front and back ones were no where near, they were so far out that they were lying towards the glass roof panel with a large gap showing to the rail channel

Never mind, I've left the short ones off for now as the channels need a good jet washing out, before I order powerful ones

Lesson learned

Are you saying the rails themselves are bent?

Yup, just a slight bend in at least the offside one when they should be straight

Can I ask why you chose that rack? Purely price? I notice it has no slots for eye bolts and the like. How do kayak rack, bike racks, can holders etc fix to it?

Sorry, another question, are the extended rails the same width apart at the front or would a shorter roof bar be required to fit across it? I appreciate you may not know the answer to that one, but I've some Thule bars and need to carry a 3+metre kayak so need the front bars a long way forward.

Cheers!

The reason is fella its flat and I can mount and open my roof tent without it catching on side bars and the like. I also have just treated myself to a Howling Moon side awning (you can see the mount on the side of the rack) I had no real preference except it had to be flat and thought for £550 including light bar it was a good price. It is a very strong and sturdy and is all ally. You can buy various fittings for it from Patriot including side bars and jerry can mounts if you like As for the other question I don't think they go much narrower at the front. Hope that helps my friend Thumbs Up

I've just got a set from ebay for £112 and although the extrusion looks good, one side was bent sideways to the extent that the end of the rails was 40mm away at the other end.

Also the instructions seem to be translated because they pretty much mean nothing.

Sending them back and i'll get the Powerful UK.
