Roof rails
Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in quaility between the silver and normal roof rails, also if they are easy to fit and what price should I expect to pay for a pair in either colour. Thanks

I have found some which according to the seller are rare, they are 2/3rds the price of the normal ones on a special offer, I know a main dealer has a long set of the bright silver ones but the standard set will do me. Also wondered what colour would go better with stornaway grey (09 model so has colour coded wheel arches as well). I don't want to get this post deleted so will not be mentioning any prices or where they are.

Orlando, can you please let me know what the quality of the rails is like, if OK I may go for a set of those. I have an MY09 Stornoway grey (with colour coded wheel archs) and I think that would look great
I just wondered if they were Chinky fakes, but at the end of the day I guess they are all made there anyway.

the silver ones are in the last D3 accessories brochure on a stornaway grey D3 8) 8) ...look very smart...thinking of getting some for my GS in stornaway

Silver rails are made from Thule like the black one, so there is no doubt about quality. On my Buchingham blue look very nice. These rails are equiped with LR manuals.

Thanks Ian, yes I agree, will get ordering tomorrow, just need roof bars as mentioned above Maybe someone on here is selling some!

Thanks guys, just ordered them, confirmed they are Thule, identical to LR ones with LR instructions as stated above by Orlando but in a plain box. £105 plus £10 p&p

No, you are mixing up roof rails and roof bars, the roof bars are apparently only available in silver now (the ones that go across the roof ), the rails in silver will soon be discontued hence them being sold off, or so the source of the information told me. So soon only black sides and silver bars, nothing matches hmmm some thought has gone into that plan by LR then
I have spoken to a couple of people today whilst buying bits, TLO confirmed the bars are only in silver now, the rails being discontued soon in silver was confirmed by the source I bought them from

Sorry Paul, I have been busy getting a refund for a pair of wiper blades that were duplicated in an order, apologies, but I think we all get it now and with your sources what we are saying seems correct
