Oi - thats enough of that - she's taller than me (who said "not hard!" at the back?)
I did an identical mod on the previous car last year.
Conversation went something like this...
"If I buy on ebay and shop around I can get roof rails and bars for £140 instead of £300 - its a bargain!"
"So exactly why do you want these roof rails?"
"So I can put the roof bars on?"
"But we don't need roof bars we haven't got a top box?"
"I know but they look good!" (slap noise heard at this point, followed by)
"(sigh) Oh go on then...."
Funnily enough a similar conversation happened on Friday afternoon...
"If I buy on ebay I can get driving lamps for £150 instead of nearly £300..."
I think you know how the rest of it went.... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Twizzle
i bought my roof rails from Rhino or Thule (cant remember which one)
They cost about AU$150. and took about 2 or 3 hours to fit
Not too difficult, just need to take your time

You deserve it for pointing out another set of lights cheaper than the ones I got!
I've got the LR bars - they're good, but the Thule ones are a lot more useful (i.e. more accessories will fit them) and they're RRP is a lot cheaper. If you're carrying more than a top box, I'd agree with Norto and recommend the Thule.Disco 5 HSE Lux

Seems to be easy enough but takes 8 hrs to complete you need to weigh down the rails for 8hrs so I guess there is adhesive involved.

Well there is a big X pictogram in the instructions next to the big load for 8 hours - so it could mean NO heavy loads first 8 hours after fitment ??
Dont know - just triggered my mind.
Cheers
