It best be possible - if I ever get Mrs N to relent and let me have an expo rack (in my dreams) I'm going to need to put a set of rails on mine.Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Steve - you need to start exerting your authority here. No woman should come between a man and his Landy.
If you want rails, then get rails. If you can fit them before she finds out, she will never notice. They don't exactly stand out a mile do they
Now, the expo rack may take a bit off exertion from you, try this loudly and in a deep voice " now look ere woman, I'm the boss and if I say I want, I get, got it? "
Fit the rails and then tell her the expo rack is the weight to hold the rails down for 8 hours - THEN, "glue" overspill means you can't remove the rack - Job done - "Funny, mine doesn't do that......."

You lucky people. In my kingdom, the rule is: do not let a Landy come between a man and his lady....
It took some serious talk to explain the urgent () need to get the sump guard (and its weight in wine for the Morocco crew). Once I sucessfully unloaded the technical oversight by LR and the outstanding safety advantages the protection piece would render (), she finally gave the approval....JL Martin

No wonder they told you it was lead-lined. Still, it's only an hours' drink for that lot!
I fit my own in about 1 hour from start to finnish, dead easy. The hard part if there is one.. is cutting the roof gutter beadings to the correct length. After that they just bolt on.
If you fit them yourself don't get the fitting kit as they come with them, I fell for this and now have a spare fitting kit.
The dealer told me that they are dealer fit only... what a load of tripe...
