Rovertyme REAR bumper for the LR3!
Just got some interesting photos of a new RTE concept bumper for the LR3. Its for the rear bumper. Comes in two pieces, ships inexpensively, and can be man-handled/installed by one person. The prototype is a little rough, but it shows promise and is certainly an interesting concept. Per the LRL Magazine blogroll, the bumper will have lots of options for swing-away mounted add-ons. LRL Mag took it to "Hummer Hill" that is a man made 60 degree ramp that tests approach and departure angle. Pretty cool. Check it out:

That's a very good looking D3! By the way - anyone have any ideas of what wheel size and what tyres those are? Looks like a V8 HSE, but those wheels look a bit on the small side for a V8... I'd love to have a set of whatever he's got!!

Very interesting Nathan. Front bar is particularly pleasing in shape.
Coupla questions. Do you know why the guy wires (from front bar to roof rack) are required?
What rims (look like previous Discovery rims) and what size are the Cooper tires (i.e. tyres, for some other English speaking countries)?
Edit: hernan1304, you beat me to it, or I type too slowly... BTW, tyres are Cooper STT available in Australia in 15, 16, 17, 18 and 20" sizes.

The cables from the front bumper to the roof rack are "limb risers", and help clear low hanging tree branches out of the way as you plunge through the forest.
I think the rims are 18" Range Rover P38 wheels, that have had the hubs enlarged a bit to fit the D3, and the tires are Cooper STT as you surmised. I think the size is 32.5" overall, but I am not remembering the metric size off hand.

Off topic: I know you are of an artistic disposition, so what are your thoughts on the (gentle, and gentlemanly) makeover that is to be the LR4?LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

I frankly do not understand anything about the LR4...or the LRX... or much of anything LR does these days. It's not that I am unfamiliar, I just don't comprehend.

I'll bet the front bumper weights about 90 lbs, and the rear bumper probably weights about 120lbs, then you need to add weight for the tires, winch, lights, etc...
Any chance you have an art work file of the compass rose on the hood? or a good photo?Sceen name use to be "wantsanlr3"

Sweet bumpers, but...
The sign shows 60% grade, not a 60degree angle. It's actually just a bit less than 31degrees. A 60degree ramp would have a grade of around 173%, and would rise 1 foot for every 0.57735 feet traveled.
