My vehicle has been driving fine, went to Essex and back on Saturday, drove around yesterday. Then, got into my disco this morning, drove off as normal, but then lost drive, like a clutch slipping!!!! I stopped the vehicle tried to pull off and more of the same. If I put the vehicle into reverse, it wont go anywhere!!!!

	Hi all

So we were on a trail when I noticed the car said all special programs were off. Fearing limp mode I never disengaged low range until we were done.

I drove home 150km and its still in EM. Says suspension fault. When you first put the key in the solid line and high mode lights are on, shortly there after the lights go out and it just beeps if you try to change the height.

Any ideas?

view forum post
Hi,

I've done a search but not found anything....

I had my aircon regassed yesterday, there was only 60g in the system and it was vacuum tested and refilled with 810g of coolant.

The compressor is running, and the pipe in the engine bay is getting cold, but there's not cold air at the vents.

Would love suggestions to check.?

Thanks in advance

	Hi

I am mentioning this just as matter of course, as it seems this becoming a rather common proble on the Disco3 diesel models, according to the dealer at least.

I had to replace the inlet hose, the one leading from the intercooler leading to the inlet manifold on top of the motor. It is the rather thick black hose that is right infront of you when you open the bonnet. The fault finding was rather tricky thou as the hose had torn, but it was difficult to...

view forum post
Morning All

MY TDV6 has developed an engine oil leak in the VEE. It's not bad but as there's so much going on in the VEE it's difficult to see where it's coming from, don't think it's coming from the filter. I've never hesitated before with washing engines, but as there's that much going on under the bonnet I thought i better check with those who know best!! Should I- Shouldn't I?

view forum post
Hi,

I'm having trouble with my D3, it shows a red warning light and "normal height only" sometimes down to bumpstops sometimes not.

Ignition off, start up and off we go again.

It is very odd behavoiur.

	Hi all

Need some advise from the Experts.

Can one put the D4 ZF 6HP28 into a D3 !?

Just wondering as i can get a ZF 6HP28 transmission. And just wondering if is good for a spare box just incase!! My box gives up its ghost!

What changes does one make! Do i need to change the transfer box as well?

The guy from Zf told me that its not posible as it Will Fit, but the computer wont talk to the Main Engine...

view forum post
When approaching a junction and turning; cross roads, t-junction anything like that, the Disco over-revves (up to about 3000) but doesn't accelerate, like it's slipping out of gear. It's an automatic by the way. After a few seconds it'll accelerate, but there's definitely something wrong. It doesn't do it on roundabouts, it seems to be 90% angle that does it. Speed is irrelevant; although I've never done 60 at a t-junction it doesn't matter if it's 5 or 15 mph. All help greatly...

view forum post
Hi, i have a disco 3 in my workshop that i need to adjust the ride height on. It is not level and sits 30mm lower on the left side rear and 20mm on the front. I have SDD IDS but have not used it before to adjust ride heights. When i try to enter the vehicle heights on each corner it goes to an error screen and wont let me change anything. Am i doing it wrong? Any pointers would be great.

i had belts done and car developed weird hissing sound coming from engine bay noticeable on both sides of the vehicle and very prominent on idle

it is definitely not turbo whistle as sound is located low
best place to listen to it is wheel wells

any ideas what might that be???

view forum post
Had the infamous AC leak. Following advice on here, fault traced to the two pipes under the car just behind the front wheel arch. Took it to a local AC specialist (Bee - Cool) in Burton Latimer near Northampton and he did a top notch repair. Good news is, having spoken to him, anyone who mentions the Disco 3 forum will be given a 5% discount! Normal service is around £50, but is much more thorough than Halfords. ...

view forum post
_________________
Kevin

I am planning to drive around in Germany for holiday reasons and in many German cities they require a green environment label, and the model I have can only get a yellow label since there are no particulate filter.

Does any know if there can be installed one in my Discovery 3 TDV6 year 2005, and if yes, where to buy it ?

Hey guys, I had a new engine fitted in my Disco about a month and a half ago. I just got it back from having its APK done (the Dutch version of a MOT). The guy in the garage (LR dealership) told me that during the emissions test the car belched out a huge cloud of black smoke - so much that it covered the entire road outside the garage. They repeated the emissions test and everything was fine and it passed. His advice was to take the car back to where the engine was fitted...unfortunately...

view forum post
_________________
D3 SE with Cooper LTZ 285/60/R18, IID Tool, ProSpeed Rock and Tree Sliders, RLD Sump Guard, ProSpeed Compressor Guard, Traxide USI-160 Dual Battery System with Optima Yellowtop, Autohome Black Storm Airtop (Medium), Frontrunner ladder, Rotopax fuel cans, custom sliding boot.
Hi Guys.

I have a problem..

On my Brothers D3, when he starts up, the car "farts", and when the reservoir for the
suspension is filled, it farts again..

My car doesn´t..
It´s a RRS MY2006, so it´s more or less the same car as the D3,
give or take a few cosmetic differencies..

I have bought the "valve repair kit" LR020590,
and tried to fit it, but couldn´t get the...

view forum post
_________________
RRS MY2006 HST

When i was in the Alps ate easter i noticed that there was a acceleration lag when putting foot down when coming out of hairpins, and then at the weekend i towed the caravan for the first time this year, and some black smoke, especially on the drivers side exhaust....
Finally, reading on here, i also get a tinkling noise on start up, and when lifting off the gas...

Hi all wondered if you could help have an 05 disco tdv6 manual the problem only occurred recently and doesn't happen all the time, basically first gear foot down no power then all of a sudden it hits you this is the same in every gear takes ages to get up to speed and there would be no chance of trying to overtake anyone. Then the car can run as normal, any help mic appreciated as its very annoying, thanks.

view forum post
As per title when the car is started up just wont rev up for a good 10secs or so, foot flat to floor.
The problem seemed to be worse in the colder temps.
It does get better once there is a bit of heat in the car but still not 100%, not ideal when pulling out of junctions etc

Its in the local garage right now but no obvious cause found, hopefully a friend with a computer can help tomorrow

The issue is:
When the car is pulling a heavy trailer or drives up a couple of hills, when I stop it comes a burnt smell and sometimes a little smoke from the back of the engine. The temperature is normal, no faults and I don’t feel any loss of power….. (It has been this way for a couple of months now)

	Hi,

I changed the front pads and disks today but have no idea if what I'm experiencing is as of a result of something I have done or whether it has always been like it.
Following changing the pads I expected to have to pump the brakes back up bit and just wanted to test everything felt ok so I pushed long and hard on the brake pedal and following hitting the brake point with continued pressure it continued to slowly sink for a reasonable way. Drove it...

view forum post
There is an interesting article in MGTalk - the newsletter of the SouthEastern T Register in Atlanta Ga.

They carried out tests on a series of rusted nuts, and recorded the torque required to release them using a variety of penetrating oils; the results were:-

Car died a few minutes ago (waiting for recovery), all lights came on, then all blank (and engine stopped). Torque did report voltage at only 11.1V at the control module and dropping (had the ODB plugged in after having to jump-start this morning from the Optima - now also at just under 11V...)

So, alternator seems to have packed it, possibly battery too... remember reading about...

view forum post
_________________
==> Guide - Inexpensive AV Modification
