Hello all, having read the thread on changing door handles (which was massively useful) I successfully changed 3 out of the 4 handles in minutes. However when I came to the passenger door the main handle wouldn't pull out, like the others due to the privacy lock. Is there a different routine for this?, do you have to remove the privacy lock? Help please??
Guys.

My boot had the broken switch problem, so I ordered a new boot handle to replace the broken one.
Needless to say what sounds easy was not as the torx screws that hold it on broke off in the brass fittings of the old handle and I had to saw and drill them out. I now need three new one's and I guess there are no part numbers.
Does anyone use anywhere for these types of screws and fixings? Or is it down the dealer with the head of the cut off screw?
...

view forum post
_________________
2006 TDV6 S Auto, Buckingham Blue, for the wife and kids.

With all the sunroof leak threads it was hard for me to find an answer to this...
I have a MY 2007 D3 HSE PP with sunroof, are the chances that I will experience a sunroof leak as high as those with older D3's?
Did they change anything with the draining during the D3 production years?
Follow-up question: is the problem still "valid" for D4's?

Thanks,

I changed my oil and filter today and also treated the engine to slick 50.
Before this treatment the oil pressure light would stay on for about 3-4 seconds after starting from cold.
It now goes out immediately and the engine seems to be a bit quieter and smoother.
I remember seeing an advert for slick 50 about 25 years ago where they treated a Ford Sierra (i think) and ran it without any oil after treatment and it kept on going. Not that I would recommend that but you...

view forum post
_________________
D3 SE

After a great days leaning at Kielder 4x4 safari I was cleaning the motor and found my engine sump guard was missing! I'm thinking there are too many fixings on it to have fallen off so its either been nicked or left off after the last time it was in the garage.

	Hi,
as I am too far from Allisport solutions and D3 of mine is 168 k/km and 6 years old:
I'd went to exhaust service to detach the cat pipe and to weld inside the opened cat housing perforated pipe. Like organizing a fire extinguisher inside the empty cat housing. I did it with two previous gas cars. That is cost-effective solution for hi mileage cars with broken or suspected to be broken cats.

Facing a £500 LR dealer bill to change the condenser, I decided to do it myself. Eight hours later it is done and all parts accounted for. A few people to thank on here.

TLO for supplying the condenser with a discount for Forum membership. Great service as always, delivered next day.

I know you can buy a storage unit from LR but at that price..........

view forum post
_________________
2007 XS
Hello,

I've bought some ebc red stuff pads to fit into the Brembo calipers that I have on the front of the disco.
The pads came with some thin metal shims that clip onto the back of the pad.

I guess they are there to try and stop brake noise .....
Any ideas on whether to sit the shims or just leave them in the box?

thanks

	Guys

Got a Discovery 3. How can I restore the lettering on bonnet and also back as it was a black and now over years faded to a speckled grey. Any ideas ?

I know I can buy lettering off eBay etc but its quite costly ????

My 8 year old D3 has just sailed through the MOT with one advisory - Rear Track Rod End Inner Ball Joint has free play. I called the garage to check that it was at the rear as I thought track rods were at the front.

Can anyone point me to a thread on this topic and ideally a photo and guide to changing! Could not find in a search, s someone will surely prove to me it does exist

I've had some bad news, on removal of my Turbo after having some Engine System Fault alerts it turns out its not the actuator fault I'd hoped for, its the motor and needs to be replaced.

Does anyone have a lead on a replacement, where to go, how much to pay? My local indy, which is where the car is is not having having any luck finding one.

The car is obviously off the road until its sorted

Any pointers welcomed.

Had the clock on dash update done a while ago by geoff and as he explained the fbh light would be on from now on when the lights are on, no problem I thought I can live with that.

But over time it is starting to bug me that I have this red light on, what did interest me was that geoff mentioned that the newer models used the same light, but had replaced with it a green "lights on" indicator.

My question is can the old red "FBH" light be...

view forum post
Hi
I have a Disco 3 HSE. It has done 53000 miles. It seems to run perfectly but when I reach a slight incline or bank the vehicle seems to lack power and is quite sluggish.
Can anyone advise me what the problem may be and have any ideas on how best to rectify this and gain extra power up hill?

Many Thanks
Hello everybody, unfortunately I have to change the front differential of my 2005 D3. Have you any suggestion in order to find on line a cheaper used spare part but in good conditions?
