Got a flat tyre today so got the spare wheel and found it its a 19 inch but my standard alloys are 17 inch , is this ok to drive also the nuts off the alloy don't look like they fit right on the steel spare wheel although it is tightened up nicely, soquestion is is it ok to drive on short trips ie 3mile.

view forum post
G'day gentlemen

The name of the thread says it all: I've become disillusioned with my Grabber ATs - yes, I know, many of you would think I've had too much to smoke , but as much as I liked the older AT2s I can't honestly say that the new ATs are even comparable. To make matters worse, I don't want to change wheels, so I'm stuck with official 255/55/19...

view forum post
Got some rims that could do with a refurb and these guys seem very competitive and can also pick up and drop off the wheels.
Anyone any experience with them?

Hi guys and gals. Only recently got by d3. Thing is and I have looked, I need some info on tyres. I have 22 inch rr stormer wheels on it with 285 35 22 uhp tyres on it, great for road but not so good off road. Now I love the wheels and the only option I can find is the cooper discoverer ltz tyres at 305 40 22.

Question is, would these rub atall?

I know most of you will say bin off the wheels and get smaller ones but if poss I want to keep them.

Just purchased 4 new General gt's. to replace my worn out scorpions which are between 2&3mm and are tramlining really badly. I found it difficult to decide between gt and at however the disco is only used on the road and the closest it gets to off road is pushing the caravan onto a grass pitch so although the at,s look good I suspect the more road biased tyre will suit my requirements better . I'll be fitting these myself on Saturday morn and am looking forward to testing them . Had 4 General Grabber ATs fitted about two weeks ago and thought I'd post my thoughts so far. They look much better than the Pirelli Scorpion Zeros that I had on before (IMHO) and are great in the mud. No tramlining either, which the Pirellis suffered from terribly, even when they were new.

They are quiet at motorway speeds but seem to have a howl to them at about 40mph, which I find quite pleasing, but then perhaps I'm strange!!

Overall, very pleased I made...

view forum post
_________________
06MY Disco 3 TDV6 HSE

I offroad a lot so I'm down grading the brakes to fit 17" wheels.

Anyone running a 245/75/17? Do the 245's look too narrow on such a large vehicle? Should I stick with the more common 265/70/17?

Anyone got a picture of a 245/75/17 on a Disco 3/4?

view forum post
_________________
08 LR3 HSE - HD Package. 265/65/18 BFG's
So am going to have to sell on my D4 xs 19" they are only 10 months old with scorpions on, two of which have done 8k miles and two less than 400 miles. What I'm asking is any ideas of how much they are worth. I have seen two sets on an auction site which I'm watching but might stick mine on here. I have just bought a new set of stainless steel wheel nuts all round. The ones on my D3 are rusty as hell!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a set of lockers that have a stainless steel cap that covers them? I can find various types of lockers but not some with caps.

Any one got any pointers?
Cheers,
I know loads on the other threads points to a lot. But while waiting for my car to be fixed on Friday I'm just going nuts with this and wonder if anyone can help me and anyone else with the same problem?

SYMPTOM
Minor EPB sound, not squealing but avoiding hand brake use.
Had all the usual lights for days.
This weekend had supension fault normal height only and no way of raising the car but I only have suspension error...

view forum post
_________________
Nov 04 D3 TDV6 HSE Java Black Cream Leather
