Driving home from Edinburgh today, on about 9 occasions car lost all power. Foot to the floor = no power. Foot totally off the throttle then re-applied, the car drives perfectly afterwards. At one stage we also got the dreaded HDC Unavailable/Special Programs off warnings etc. After we stopped the car let it go to sleep and restarted, these warnings all went and everything was available. The throttle fault still persisted though. My thoughts are perhaps the Throttle Position Sensor is on the...

view forum post
_________________
MY13 D4 HSE SDV6 in Orkney Grey, HK Pro7, Nav, Rear screens,"Vision pack", Homelink, Side Steps(Essential for me )

The car is now at 50K, over 3 years old and out of warranty.

Started to hear a noise which was diagnosed by an independent as the drivers side front wheel bearing. £270 later and all is back to normal.

Is it usual for these bearings to go?

view forum post
So after the dealer had no luck recreating the awful engine noise I experienced and recorded in the sound clip in this thread (http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic94765.html), they drained the engine oil to find it contained swarf (fine particles of metal which shouldn't be there).

My dealer confirmed this is "pretty uncommon to find in engine oil" and it's almost undoubtedly there as a result of something in the engine or an associated component wearing prematurely. ...

view forum post
_________________
747_JK
