Rubber Mats and fitting.

Can anyone shed any light on why there is a hole in the rear rubber mats, as circled in the picture. If you buy the mats new, do they come with a tab or suchlike that you screw into the carpet, so that hole locates in there ?

There is nothing in our D4 where the hole currently sits when fitted.

Are they deffinately D4 mats? I know my D3 has stud in the floor for the mats to fix to using the holes 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

My Wife thinks the D3 is a hobby, The D3 thinks the wife is 💕

The above are just library photos. The D4 ones we have do have the correct duel holes in the main part of the mat. It is the single hole as circled I was curious about. D4 HSE Lux. my 2015 . Mariana Black

I have the same in my D4 mates. I have no carpet studs in the rear at all. Mats dont seem to move though without them

The D3 has little turn bobs in the carpet at those locations.

The mats for the D4 I think are identical to the D3, having recently bought a set from a D4 for my D3 which had these holes. 2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

If you buy the mats new, they come with the screw in anchors for parts of the mat that extend between the rear seats and the doors. Just make a hole in the carpet with a screwdriver or awl and screw them in. They do stay in place without them though if you don't want to make holes in the carpet Chris
