Had the LR ones on SWMBO's D3. Took them off after first drive through falling snow as the gaps just fill up and you can't see anything. Though not really a risk in Devon as they haven't had snow since the last ice age.

So this morning I decided to remove the screws ,three came out with a bit of persuasion ,then there is always one ,the hex slot in the head just rounded so I ended up drilling it out ....Then "PING" the light guard sprung out breaking one of the clips which holds it in behind the grille

I have superglued it back on but I'm not confident that it will stay on when refitted ...so any ideas ? Oh wise ones

You could just superglue it to the light unit, then it won't need the screws or the catch thingie.

Take them out and replace with stainless steel ones
What would they be called ?
???? Hex????
Just take one of the 'good' ones to the local fastening place, and ask for the equivalent S/S ones
Or if that's too difficult, get swmbo on here and we'll explain it to her

Did they come from "Britpart" by any chance?
Mine D3 light guard's were bought from a LR store who had got them from Britpart.
One of the clips like yours snapped when i fitted them for the first time.
I would try a local auto factor's or such and see if they can help.

Sorry, but I agree with you, doubt very much that this will hold.
So that means good news and bad news.
Bad news - you will need a new set
Good news - rust problems gone away as they will come with a new set of rust free screws
