What does the S in SDV6 stand for?..... |

As the subject says, what does the S in SDV6 stand for? I know the T in TDV6 is for Turbo but can't work out what the S means. 2017 Discovery Sport HSE, Firenze Red

Nah, it's much simpler than that. They couldn't find the person at LR who could actually recognise letters when they needed to put a new order into the supplier. Oh, and then the bean counters realised that it would make some money as everyone would want a new fangled S rather than a lowly T!

I thought it was something to do with the DPF, because when LR started fitting them to the D4 is that not when it changed from TDV6 to SDV6.
Maybe it stands for "Sootfree" I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

You honestly think a d4 xs is worth the money they charge for it?
I don't but that is my opinion and I have driven a good few disco 4's now but this one hasn't lit my flame. The others are what made me want an LR in the first place and were superb machines but the latest one doesn't feel like its been built right and has had the purse strings really stretched, and yes I'll harp on about it but in a £40k+ car the infotainment should be much better, I would literally say its a step back from the MY10/11 models. The dynamics seem to have changed and it feels more top heavy, yes it's got an improved mpg and more gears. The MY12 d4 is still better than the SSRR which lasted a week before munching a tdv8 with its caged in cabin feel!
Each to their own though and I have tried to provide a pertinent response to query number 1, I offer help to the courier services when needed as I'm always happy to lend a hand and I'm not the best driver in the world with room to improve quite easily and I'm sorry if I have offended anyone on here but I've just been honest and always will be, just ask anyone who has bought anything from me on any of the forums.
Again sorry for any distress I have caused anyone by being here. FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner

Not too bothered about that at the minute, more interested in tryin to protect the kids from her psychotic knife episodes!
Anyway I digress way way off the topic line and my apologies to the original poster, my initial response was only in jest FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner

Should be :
Sequential Turbo Diesel V6
I wonder why they didn't do that lettering? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
