S spec seat base

In the saga of the S spec drivers seat (both height adjustment and seat quaility), I seem to recall someone posting that a new/modified seat squab was now being fitted. Has anyone had this done.

My car is booked into the dealers to have the height sinking issue investigated, as LR have now issued some instructions to the dealer to do this (which includes measuring the sinking over an 8 hour period, so its in overnight)

The dealer would like to know (by car registration number) if anyones had the seat comfort issue resolved so that he can reference it in his conversations with LR.

cheers
Alan

Re: S spec seat base

Leaving the car overnight will not solve anything. The only reason it sinks is as you get in and out you knock the lever. The seat does not sink of its own accord or due to weight on it.

Since I have been using my 'fix' (see my picture in the margin) the seat has never sunk.

Until they move the lever to the front of the seat (like the Mini) the problem won't go away.

I'd already seen your "fix", but mine sinks during a journey, and I've been really carefull getting in and out to make sure I didn't get anywhere near the lever.

Both me and the service mgr can't quite see what leaving it for 8 hours is going to solve, but thats what LR have asked them to do.

For now, we'll go along with the request.

On top of been blooming uncomfortable mine's started sinking too, it's in the dealer for a service soon so I'll get them to take a look.

Is someone going to sit in it for 8 hours to simulate normal load? Wink
