2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Bali BlueDiscovery 3
[For Sale] 2009 Discovery 4 with seized engine

Land Rover discovery 3.0 TDV6 reg2009

Light blue 7 seats full body trim - GS spec, electric windows, Thatcham alarm immobiliser, alloys, unused tow bar, Average mileage - Just under 80K

Has wanted for nothing, fully serviced.....

However

Engine seized due to oil loss from crank shaft seal - This has now been replaced as well as a new timing belt fitted.

Reg is DU59UKG.

I would like to think it's still worth 6K, am I overly optimistic? Open to offers.

Please excuse the stock photo, it's dark all the time here jus now, If interested it's not beyond the wit of man to organise delivery to Aberdeen or the like.

Not one of the early D4 I’ve looked at were 2.7, all 3.0. The only 2.7 D4 I’ve seen were commercial.

ok that would make sense the last early D4 I looked at was a converted commercial.

so that would make this one a 3ltr 6 speed?

It's locked in the garage compound, forgot it was Sunday, will try again after Christmas.

Hi,

Can I just confirm the garage changed the oil seal and and belts on a seized engine but left you with a non runner? Seems a bit odd

Assume an engine is £4-5k plus fitting?

Yup, that’s the gist if it. I wasn’t involved in the process.
Had a quick look on eBay and 4 to 5 k for a good engine seems to be about the going rate.

There are forum users who will know a lot more about it than me.

NOT in Spain or others countries!! here we had D4 with 2,7 190 h.p. auto and manual gearbox, no commercial version, for many time!! and coexisting with the "new" 3.0 auto, with 245 h.p by then.....of course:thumbsup:

I think only manual commercial D4s, even saw one in a dealers. D3 cars had switched to auto only well before then so D4 cars prob just followed on. Thumbs Up

Aahhh understood !! ...here the D3 always existed, until the end, in both versions of the gearbox and the D4 just followed on Very Happy ... for a while only!! Evil or Very Mad ....I have always thought that a D4 with 255 h.p. and manual box would have been a hellish beast !! Twisted Evil the perfect disco I think!! Can you imagine it? the porsche cerrera of the green tracks!!
