Sales Figures

From LR USA. 2017 august sales

"The Discovery continues to struggle, despite its new-car status. It was down 15% for the month of August, after having started deliveries in May. This is surprising and disappointing"

People will be along to try and defend it by saying things like itโ€™s down over similar markets.

Is it any wonder itโ€™s down.

The US market is in a downturn for the last 6 month approx., inventories are piling up and discounts getting bigger and bigger.

First to suffer are European premium brands.

28% is 2016 and 2017 calendar years which not reasonable comparison
.
7% drop for comparable quarters though.

Ireland 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

20% drop of Discovery sales in September is huge though. Other models only had a 6-7% drop and with the Disco being a brand new model it should be doing better not worse.
