I have just got myself a Samsung Jet which is apparantly classed as a Smartphone (dont know why!), i connected it to my bluetooth on D3 and authorised it so it should connect automatically as my previous samsung did, but each time it tries to connect it asks for the PIN, i thought it was a problem with the phone but my girlfriends phone similar to mine does exactly the same thing.
Has anyone else had similar issues with phones and D3s and does anyone know any ways to overcome this without throwing it in the bin and going back to my old phone cos it is really annoying!

On your phones bluetooth settings. Have you set enable smart pairing. I think you then set a range of codes where it will connect automatically. Mine is set to anything between 0000 and 8888.Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it
Shrinky, I just been looking at the bluetooth settings, and there is no option for smart pairing on this, infact there are very few options atall! I've spoken to both Orange and Samsung and neither could shed any light on the bloody thing! Think i'm going to have to sit in my car and play about with it or just give up and accept i got a phone my D3 doesnt like! I knew it had a personality! '16 Volvo XC90 R Design Bursting Blue (Vera)

Hi Skep,
did your previous phone pair correctly with the BT unit?
I had exactly the same prob with my Nokia N95 and problem was only solved by putting in a new (well, secondhand) bt unit into the D3.

I've got the same problem.
Just picked up an 06 HSE, and every time I turn on the ignition my Samsung Tocco Lite phone comes up with "enter passcode". Sometimes the 2121 code works and it connects, othertimes it doesn't and I need to go into the Bluetooth menu to reconnect manually.
From reading the many threads about this subject, it looks like either a software upgrade or module replacement is the solution.
My question is: should the supplying dealer do this FOC, even though the car is outside its original warranty?

I have a Samsung Jet, and after the initial set up, only asks should it Auto Connect when I start the car. I do not need to put any passcode in.
Looking through the phone settings I have
I have issue with my Samsung, it pairs ok, but will not show the phone book names in the display, only numbers. it works ok in a FL2 but not a D3
