Hi i have recently purchased my discovery3 and am trying to change the settings so that i can change the dcestination etc when moving.
I have read several threads and am still a little confused as to how to enter the special menu to enter the codes stated.
some threads say press the agree button and then hold the left nav key for 10 seconds to reveal the keypad!
mine is an 2005 s model with a 08/09 nav disk.
my question is which is the left nav key that shows the sat nav menu?
my left button is an arrow and just reverts the screen to map mode!
please can anyone help me out with step by step laymans instructions?
regards
Alex

I think sat nav on the move will need to be enabled in the ccf(car configurations files) a forum member named Wiggs will be able to sort it if you dont want your pants pulling down at the dealers. Club Exped trailer

It depends on the software version and nav disk. If you have the latest version than it can only be done by the stealer or someone with the right equipment. Member Wiggs can do this.
If you have old software/disk then try this (as described on this forum);
"Press the agree disclaimer to enter Sat Nav. system
Press bottom left home key......This shows you the "Sat Nav. Menu"......press your finger (hold for <10 secs) on the screen above the box named "stored locations" just to the right of the word menu at the top of the screen.
A keypad should appear.........enter the following code 1791 then press OK.......the screen will show the keypad again...enter 1791 once more, but this time(instead of OK) exit the screen using the button at the top right of the screen. ALL SHOULD NOW OPERATE on the move." CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Renton that is fantastic! I posted on an older thread, and was told that my 05MY needed to have an updated Nav disc before I could enable Nav on the move, but you have just proven otherwise! I just went through your instructions (or whoever originally posted these) and i worked first time. I can't believe that I have had the car so long now without that feature enabled! It has driven me mad having to pull over at the roadside to enter new destinations, which I never had to do with TomTom of course.
Now that I have enabled it, what will happen if I do still update my nav disc to a later version? Will it still be enabled, or will I have to get it re-enabled by the garage? Does anyone know? D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

Redjelly,
If I remember correctly...
- this 1791 trick needs to be done every ignition cycle (startup).
- the 'feature' will disappear if you upgrade software.

I already tried cycling the ignition, and I also tried locking the car up and going back in again and it was still ok. I'm going to out there again now and double check, maybe it resets after a period of time. I still wanna get the latest disc tho, as the maps are out of date. I think my disc is the oiginal 05MY disc. There is a seller on ebay at the moment offering 2010 disc for £50. I asker her if it is genuine, and she said she got them from LR supplier, but it smells a little like a fake. D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

If you get the new disk ..open up the files and remove the Loader.kwi file , then reburn it , you will have the latest maps with the old hack .
Other than that, once you install the 2006 and onwards disk it will stop the hack and you will need to get the car reprogramed to allow sat nav on the move . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wounded! I just went out to the car again and checked, and the hack has reset, so you guys are right! I'd have to do it every time. Wiggs, if I buy the 2010 disc, will my independent be able to the hack with his autologic kit or must it be the dealer? D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

So I got a new disc, 2010 version, so bang up to date. There's quite a few changes really. not just maps updated, but the software too. Especially the button labels have changed a lot. I think so far the software is loads better too, the arrival times etc are more reliable and the routes seem to be much better. The old one used to send me the most stupid ways compared to my old TomTom on my PDA. Like sometimes it would send me 2 sides of a triangle where my TomTom would have sent me down the one side. This version does seem to be much better though, although I've not had any long journeys yet to test it fully.
I'm hoping now though that I willbe able to get the sat nav on the move enabled permanently with this latest version. D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)
