Wiggs you mention a £700 box in an earlier post

Do you mean the TV tuner unit?

i'm assuming that nobody sells a pre-moulded cable & connector that would fit our requirements for connecting between the sat nav & an AV input?

Not that i have found ..main problem is that the RG174 coax cable is so small it is hard to get a RCA/ PHONO lead to mate up .

I have a few proper fakra leads ..just need to get some other ends for them and connect them

These are all the same Fakra connector - now standard in automotive.
The only diff is they are polorized to stop you plugging them into each other.
You will get the plug with a length of coax from any car-audio specialist, but they will prob be black ones so you will have to cut the plastic polarizing lug off.
I have some of them lying around here somewhere ...

They're tricky to make but it can be done. You need coax cable (I used standard stripped back and reinsulated at the end), a crimping tool, heatshrink, a reasonable solding iron, a steady hand ... actually three steady hands and good eyeballs (starting to struggle on this last one Big Cry )

Does anybody have a spare SMB connector i could purchase/site donation. After looking around at the various different suppliers it looks as if it will cost me a tenner (inc p&p) for one of these connectors & i thought somebody on here may have a spare?

Doesn't have to come with the cable attached (but that would be a bonus)

Cheddarwards,
I bought a 2meter coax with a pre attached SMB connector at one end and an antenna at the other for £8 inc postage. Saved all that faffing about, just cut off the antenna Thumbs Up When I get home tonight i'll dig out the name of the company for you Thumbs Up

Andrew,

These are the people I used www.wifi-antennas.co.uk Part No GPS-MC 2meter external GPS antenna. Agreed it is a shame to throw away the expensive bit, but it came the next day and saved me trying to connect the SMB
