Sat Nav Screen issues and sticky knobs

Hi there,

Recently got a new to me 2010 Discovery 4. The SAT NAV screen is playing up. It did work properly initially but stopped very soon after and has a grey stripe on it. No fault codes and battery is giving 14.8 volts when running. Any one any idea of where or how to start looking for a loose connection or any other ideas?

Also the red knobs circled below are kind of sticky with age. Any idea how to clean these up or replace them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Your screen is goosed. The knobs need a clean with a kitchen sponge and some fairy. Mine were grey, sticky and just generally horrible. A wipe over with a damp sponge removed a load of muck and they were back to being black and tack free.

With your screen, pull the fuse for a few minutes, refit and it will probably work temporarily but I think ultimately it’s in need of a new one.
