Sat nav stopped working

I had some work done on the car recently to cure the secondary turbo drain issue (I'm guessing they had to disconnect the battery to do it) and since then the sat nav is not working. The screen says 'Navigation is initializing. Please wait.' Annoyingly I only noticed the day after I got it back.

I spoke to the garage who told me to bring it back to them and they would take a look but to save a 45 min round trip does anyone have any suggestions on something I can do to reset it or similar? I was thinking about disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it but worried that this will cock up other electrical things!

Cheers

James

If you do the hard reset you will only have to recalibrate the one touch closing of the windows, takes two minutes to do.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

The SatNav in my D4 works as it should, but I only use Google Maps, Waze & What3Words.

I tend to use my mobile for sat nav but it is occationally handy when out of reception etc. Also, when I sell, it will be annoying not having the LR sat nav as this may put people off.

It is 2013. I'm not sure but I don't think it is a DVD version.

2013 will be the later version which uses updates via USB (but the latest official mapping is around 2017)

There are plenty of these available on that online auction site, search for CF6N-18C815 and look for any with the suffix HM, HN or HP - I think the HP version was the last to be produced and will likely have maps that are later than those on your old unit before it failed. A quick search found some at around £150 and easy to change with no coding required.
