Sat navigation update
Hello,
Today I was unable to find a postcode on my discovery 4 2013.
1. is it possible to update the sat nav?
2. Can it also be updated for all Europe as well as UK?
3. Do you know who does this?
4. Costs?
Thank you

When I first tried my sat nav it wouldn't accept postcodes until I went into settings and discovered it was set to Belgium as the search country.
Changed it to UK and everything is fine now.
Pretty sure you can adjust it to any country in Europe.

Yes, it can be done (but you might already have the latest maps).

MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!

You mentioned you couldn't find the postcodes ..... is the requirement for postcodes related to your question about updating the software?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Correct, that's why the updates come on a USB stick. You plug it in and the new data is copied to the internal hard drive in the sat nav. I did mine a few weeks ago - took a couple of hours to upload.
You might already have the latest data though.MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

You originally said the car was a D4 2013 but your now saying its a 2014 car.
If it's a 2014 car you will have the latest sat nav software.

Then why mention postcodes at all We are trying to assist ...because if you can't see postcodes then that wont' be resolved by updating
Here are the latest releases ...if you have a 13 \ 14 MY then there is no new data ...but you can still pay them if you like

I am looking to buy an early D4 HSE probably a 10 or 11 plate, I see on the LR website it says that Sat Nav updates are dealer only, and thus very expensive, is this still the case or has someone clever worked out a way to update them without LR involvement?

As DG said, there is a difference between 'software' - what runs the satnav, and data/ maps - the maps shown by the system.
If you can't enter a postcode, then as others have said, check that the system is set for the UK and not Belgium. If this is the fault, then there is a TSB issued for it.
1. After starting the vehicle, the voice notification "Welcome to the [country name]" is played.
2. On entering the Navigation after start-up, the vehicle icon shows itself in the region default, for example Belgium. Once GPS signal is acquired the vehicle icon jumps back to the actual location and the voice notification "Welcome to the [country name]" is played.
3. All other features of the Navigation system work normally.
• Permanent
This only exists in Integrated Audio Module (IAM) MCM-E level units. To find out what hardware is fitted to the vehicle select the "Part Information" icon on the Vehicle Statement Of Health (VSOH) on SDD.

In addition
After starting the vehicle:
-Previous Destination list is unavailable (all items are deleted, button is greyed out).
-In EU, Destination entry by Postcode is unavailable (button is greyed out) .
-Search area changes to region default, example Belgium.
-Current route is removed (deleted) in next ignition cycle.
This version has been created to update the Parts section.
Cause: A software issue or hard fault with the IAM.
Suggested Customer Concern Code - A59.
noteNOTE: You must carry out the instruction to download the latest software first, under no circumstance must a module be ordered or replaced until it has been confirmed that the software update has not resolved the issue and all of the symptoms for module replacement are confirmed.
Action: Should a customer express concern, follow the Diagnostic Procedure below.
Intermittent - Download new software to the IAM.
Permanent - Replace the IAM.
