Satnav bypass

My new MY2012 D4 has the dreaded lockout for Destination inputs while moving, which is a nuisance as I always have a passenger inputting addresses.

Have read all the posts here (I think), but cannot find any refernces to the latest Satnav on MY2012. Have tried all the suggestions to get into hidden menus but nothing seems to apply.

Thanks in advance.

I know that this doesn't help you chaps but my D4 MY12 allows destination input on the move. Is this a territory thing? I cant however believe that we have more freedom in the UK!
The car did go into the dealer in December to have a warranty software update because the screen had gone completely blank. Having come from an 06 D3 I was expecting this input problem but was pleasantly surprised to find it has changed in the D4. The funny thing is I dont remember being able to do it before its visit to the dealer, but there again I may not have tried it before. Is it normal on a UK version?

SWMBO operates the Satnav on the move in my 2012MY D4, and thankfully I haven't needed to take it to the dealer for anything since I picked it up in November, so it comes as bog standard.

Sat nav on tbe move has been standard on d3 / d4 since 2007

Unfortunatly countries outside the UK have different regulations so a lot are locked

My New Zealand MY12 also does not allow entry of a new address on the move. You can only select from the favourite destinations or home. Fortunately there aren't many roads around here, so not a major. Must be part of the regional settings, as I also can not do the remote closing of all windows.

Did you come right with the Satnav on the move feature for the D4? I have my dealer looking at it but I suspect we may need a group letter signed by fellow D4 owners in SA protesting against this. I am prepared to sign a waiver with LRSA. In SA its probably more dangerous to stop on the side of the road to enter an address, than typing one in whilst driving!

The D4 has the option in the menu but we are still waiting for the software to be released to edit the CCF on MY2012. But also not sure if its just a case of changing the setting in the CCF or having to go through the procedure that we do on the D3..

Hi Flack,

In the hidden menu (LR button for 8 secs then the valet for 20 secs) there seems to be quite a few options. Not sure if any of them are programmable or just read only. Is there any setting for the SatNav on the move there?

Hi,

no, it's not only CCF. I have a 2010 US/NAS LR4 with Nav "STOP" on the move and a fautmate to edit the CCF and EUCD configuration files.

In short: No chance to activate Nav on the move till now.

Greetings from Germany

In ids there's the option to unlock this feature . Yet you have to plug the ids unit into mains power whilst doing so

I have lost all faith in the LR4 SATNAV. In the few times I have used it, it was unable to find locations for 4 well known and established street addresses. It cannot even find my home. Maybe it just the South African map database but my cheap Garmin knocks the socks off it. And worse of all for the South African market as soon as you venture into neighboring countries like Lesotho then you lose all maps. Whats the point of having a LR in southern Africa if you are not going to explore??? Also in our country it is more dangerous to stop on the side of a road to enter a SATNAV destination than to enter it whilst driving. Surely also the computer can sense a passenger in the seat using the seat belt reminder, and then enable SATNAV on the move ??? A big thumbs down to LR - great vehicle but useless SATNAV. I will use my Garmin in the vehicle.
