Scratch removal kit from Aldi
I have never bought one of these scratch remover kits, but was in Aldi last Friday and it was less than a fiver, so I thought, why not?
Incredible! I used to have 2 scratches on the bonnet and one on the driver's door. Not any more! Not sure how these things work, but I now have scratch-free paintwork again. Didn't do much to the deep score on the Mini's flank, but I suspect that needs more expensive attention.No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

* 1 tube of repair
* 1 tube of finish
* 1 polishing wedge
* 2 special polishing cloths
* 4 strips of sandpaper
Sounds like a recipe for disaster if you get too carried away 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Have mine now - will be trying around some edges first
for the record - sandpaper claims to be "Grain 2500" which according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandpaper#Grit_size_table is the very finest you can get (average particle diameter 8.4 µm )Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I've got some 2000 grain sandpaper that I've used on my D3 after touching up stone chips and it is very easy to remove too much paint if you're not careful (the first time I did it I wasn't ).
I would still say that you would need to be very careful even with 2500 grade. If the cutting/finishing polish is ok then for the price it seems a very good deal though 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
