Scraunching noise on lock

Many of you have reported a noise when on full lock.

Been to dealer today and they have found the noise that many of you have when on full lock.

It is a bad weld (splatter) that catches on full lock and eventually will wear away. It is not serious, just poor workmanship. The guys suggest a bit of grease on the weld, will reduce the cutting effect. It is down near the front driveshaft and cannot be reached with a file to rub down.

There you go then.

Marc, it could be on either side. The splash just catches as the car moves. My dealer apologised and put some grease on it as they could not access it to rub it down to ease the noise. It is only on full lock. I never use full lock, they found it. Brilliant.

You will also notice that the V shape on the steering swivel is so that the steering lock is more limited at extremes of wheel travel.
