Screeching brakes

When my car went in for its first service, one of the items I asked to be looked at was that occasionally the rear brakes squeal when setting off. They cleaned and adjusted the park brake shoes and when I collected it the sound had gone, but 2 weeks later it's back again (intermittent though) Mad . Rang the dealership and they said that their instructions from LR were just to clean and adjust the park brake shoes if a customer complained of this problem. Their was a vin specific fix for this problem but mine does not fall in the range Rolling Eyes .

Anyone know a relevant tsb number for a 2006 model D3?

Mine does this to

I've just bought my 55 LR3 and had it back for the very same thing. LIke you when I left it was okay and remained so for about a week. The screech is back. What exactly does VIN: 5A300167-6A357844 say? Is there a fix. It sounds like an old van crawling through traffic. Sad

"What exactly does VIN: 5A300167-6A357844 say?" This is the range of VIN numbers where this TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) applies to.

They adjust the brake or change a clip, which can break thus causing the pads to be dislodged.

Spoke with the service manager at my local dealers about this problem the other day and he confirmed that my D3 has had the upgrade already. He also said that this tsb does not rectify the problem completely as they have done this fix to quite a few D3' which are still getting the screeching brake problem (mine included). All LR are doing at the moment is advising them to clean and adjust the brakes (even if the above mod has already been done) if the customer complains of this problem - I have left mine for now until it gets worse - its only intermittent at the moment.

Took mine to the dealers for coolant bottle. Complained of brake squeale. They said it was outside the vin range for TSB. Didn't do it with them said asbestos free brake pads do this. I suppose Ford own Volvo as well so maybe they fitted the old volvo brakes to the D3. Shocked
