Some early D4s in U.K. were 2.7s, not just commercials. Someone was selling one here not too long ago. Thumbs Up

And I think early SDV6 were exactly the same as the 3.0l TDV6 expect for DPF. No difference in power, gearbox or cosmetically!

Clear as mud then Rolling with laughter

Mine is a 2011 SDV6 and it's 245 bhp with 6 speed box, Identical to the TDV6 with 6 speed box.

the badge is the only difference, mine has DPF.

2012 with the 8 speed box are all 255bhp is my understanding.
 Jaguar I-Pace HSE imminent.
Gone HSE with Flappy Paddles. IID BT tool. RLD Spare Protector, Altox GPS.

It's really not all that complicated Laughing

In the UK
2010: 245 BHP twin turbo 3.0 6 speed badged 3.0 TDV6. Commercial 190bhp 2.7 badged TDV6
2011: early in the year 245 BHP twin turbo 3.0 6 speed badged 3.0 TDV6, later in the year badge changed to SDV6 for same engine. Commercial early in the year 190bhp 2.7 badged TDV6, later in the year 210 BHP twin turbo 3.0 6 speed badged TDV6
2012: 254 BHP twin turbo 3.0 8 speed badged SDV6, not sure if the 210 BHP continued in the commercial
2014: 255 BHP twin turbo 3.0 8 speed badged SDV6

For non-UK markets essentially as above, but the engines available in UK Commercials were also available in low spec non-commercials.

For all markets, if it is manual gearbox it is a 2.7

Any UK non-Commercial 2.7s around are Commercials that have been converted back by putting the rear seats back in.

strange that my MY2011 HSE (on the rear door) Auto has the 3.0l 210bhp. not a low spec!
Mybe they too many 3.0 l 210bhp engines and dumped them in the Swedish cars.
The only low spec in my car is no lights in the vanity mirrors.

Is it a factory HSE? Could someone have converted a commercial to HSE spec and just stuck the badge on the back?

So the new engine will only generate 210hp then I’m guessing ?

Hi guys

I’ve currently got a disco 3 se and I’m looking to upgrade to a disco 4. There seems to be sdv6 and tdv6.

What’s the difference?

Also is post 2012 a better car?

Thanks

I wondered what the difference was myself, for what it’s worth someone fancied playing about with badge names, TD = Turbo Diesel, SD = Sequential Turbo Diesel (probably opted out of STD for good reason Laughing ) driven both pre and post 2012, depends what your looking for, all good Thumbs Up

You should not compare the cars delivered in UK with cars to other countries.
This is my 5th Discovery and trough the years I have seen that the cars sold in Sweden was not the same as in UK.
