A brave man you are, not only taking on an ocean, but super saturated sand and salt, in a car known for a plethora of electronic wizardry that doesn't like any of the above let alone a steel chassis ect.
I'd be wading the first fresh water loch I found Rolling with laughter
All that said........awesome pictures Thumbs Up

I cant imagine its any worse than the amount of salt they put on the roads in winter! Glad to see your enjoying your Disco and using it! As long as its washed off in fresh water afterwards i cant really see the issue. Thumbs Up

The great bit is when you get back onto North Uist, just 1/2 mile down the road is a freshwater loch with easy access to drive into it - a quick drive around washes the underside of the car clean of the all the salt water nicely. And then a good jet wash back at the house and the salt water is (mostly) gone. Well - as much as is possible anyway...

Did anybody else read this bit Whistle Laughing

Clearly they didn't Hairy Dan! She was in that freshwater loch having a 'bidet' within 90 seconds of getting back on dry land...

Up here all the cars on the island rust, and apparently the Japanese brands are the worst for it. There is so much salt in the air on a Hebridean island (where it's always windy), that 2wd cars which don't ever drive on a beach or through the sea rust. Taking a car on it for a short burst, and then washing it off very carefully, is not going to do it much harm. And like you say, the amount of salt on the roads throughout the winter is just as bad.

But glad people liked the pics and report!

TBJ6 gets looked after very carefully. She wasn't even due a service, but she went for a full health check at Harwoods Croydon before the trip up here, and then a full day's valet when she's back safe and sound. I'll post some pics after the guys from Max Wax have worked their magic - all eight hours of it. It will be like she never set sail in the North Atlantic in the first place!

If you own one of these cars, you've got to have some fun in them occasionally. Living on the M40/M25 all the time gets boring!

And if you lot were up here with Vallay off to the side of the road, and a low tide, I bet you would ALL be leaving the blacktop, setting course, and going for it 'all head full'!

Blimey you have a better memory than me - had had not even realised I had posted about it before!

And yes I did have a drone, albeit a very cheap one for £50 which could not cope with the strong winds up here!!!
