8spd gearbox reset using iid
Hi all, can anyone point towards how you can reset the gearbox using BT iid tool?
Also how risky is this?
Cheers

why do you want to reset it? Have you done a flush or something? I don't think you should just reset them

I reset mine with the IId, it's under service procedures. However, it made the gearbox quite jerky for a while, then it adapted back to how it was, perfectly smooth. I would say do not reset it unless you have good reason to, like replaced a major component.

Thanks guys. It was just that it changes down a gear on the motorway on hills when I do not think it needs too? When I use paddle shift it is fine on the same hills in 8th gear (on cruise control).
I was waiting to get it flushed when Geoff manages to perfect the process (I am on 80K).
