Seat is stuck!

I've driven my LR4 for almost a month and I'm happy with the car, actually very happy! My only mishap is the fact that one of my seats in the second row has become stuck (folded). Has anybody got any tricks or do I need to go and see the dealer?

Have you tried sitting on it whilst pressinf down to release it - it had that once and that's how I cleared it, never been a problem since. OBviously you need to hold the release down and get off the seat to unfold, so best with two people, one to provide the weight the other to operate the seat

I think the padding on the new seats is so plump that it's pushing against the latch when folded down and making it difficult to release. By putting weight on the seat it releases the pressure on the mechanism.

or have you got it in the totally flat position (where the base is dropped too)?

in that case you need to raise the base back to normal position with the strap that pull, shift the base backwards and up, then you can fold the back upright

I just had all my second row folded flat for the first time for a visit to the local waste incinerator. All were very stiff to fold flat and one was very reluctant to come back up again. Make sure you pull the strap at the front really fully out... you can hear it click when far enough, with it still pulled fully out push up and back on the base... you might need an extra pair of hands the first time.
