Should the seatbelt reel upper panel look like this?
Below is a picture of the passenger seat belt reel upper panel off my disco. This looks like a scar left over from a rapidly extended seatbelt. Slightly worried that my disco has an accident in its past. Anyone else have a disco that looks like this?

Mine looks worse than that and it's not been in an accident. It's just where the belt gets pulled out too fast and has worn into it. All fine. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Bodsy. That is a relief! Not good that it happens (never had that on a car before) but rather that than discover my car had a hard front end impact..

Mines worn over a larger area just not so deep
BTW thanks for getting me to check the motor the bl**dy sunroof was left open Anybody remeber offhand how to programme it to close when you lock the motor

THanks DiscoDunc I have just tried your automatic system and it works fine, I have also now got to try and operate it via a mobile connection................
.............back in a moment .................just some slight tinkering with the keypad.......use the verbal code............................yep works just fine
