Second Hand Prices - your thoughts… |
|
Hi
I’m struggling to find any concrete info, and very hard to find definite answers
How much have second hand prices of Disco 4s gone up at the moment, and is it a stupid idea to buy right now if I don’t need to change?
I’ve just looked at a 2012 XS for £15990, in the autotrader listing it had £15490, so I’m guessing at some point in the last 2 months that it’s been up for sale (if the autotrader web address for a listing still starts with the listing date)
If they’re £500 more than it was a year ago, I can stomach that. But if this is inflated by 2-3k over a couple of years ago for similar age and mileage, I’ll hold on and hope that when the new market catches up that prices come back down again.
Thanks
Rich

Hi and welcome,
have a go with the search button in the title bar as there has been a couple of threads recently about how much they have gone up this year
you can see some of the figures and increases
I would wait
but if you are p/ex then yours should be worth more as well and as always its "price to change"

Thanks for that. I’d searched but didn’t find much. Just searched again and found the good stuff.
Definitely not the time to buy. Not p/x ing so not benefiting from that. So just laying more.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the influx next year as people manage to get their new cars. Same for caravans, I’m hoping everyone sells their Covid purchases, and the prices drop.

Sadly you may have a long wait . Disco 4s are very popular and they dont make them anymore. Plenty of drivers with 5s looking to go back to good used late 4s . Im not sure quite why they are so popular to me they are ticking time bombs now . when my new engines fitted I think its time to part company as the dealer has offered me more for it than i paid from them last christmas. What to replace it with ? I was sceptical of the engine issue hype until mine just gave up ,then being told the dealer already has 4 more awaiting engines.
