Anybody know what black coloured dome shaped device is attached to speaker (sub woofer)over dash.

"solar sensor" Purpose is to accomodate changes in the sunlight by altering the cool air bypass flap position , thus allowing more cool air into the vehicleG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I must open my eyes when in the car as I never noticed there was a dome thingy.
Is it my imagination or does the stereo volume increase as your road speed increases?
