Serpentine Belt Tensioner - Whining Sorted

EDIT: Title editted from Turbo Trouble? to the actual problem of serpentine belt tensioner, incase somebody else needs to diagnose the noise Thumbs Up

Hey guys, I have done a search and cannot find mention of my symptoms.

There is a whiring / whining noise from the engine when put under load. On tick over it doesn't exist, as you prod the loud pedal harder the whine gets louder.

It occurs whilst stationary (ruling out transmission?) and through all the gears in my auto, auto box seems ok apart from seeming to hang onto 1st a bit longer. No black smoke that I can see.

I knew I should have taken the LR warranty renew 6 wks ago Sad

Does this sound like turbo trouble please? Or could there be a cheaper problem?

If its a Engine Speed related whine, being in Neutral I would look at the tensioners and/or Intercooler and Hoses.

Could be the Tensioners, some have been known to start to cease and collapse. Get it checked soonest.

Wow, I am getting better. Now I need to sort my whine on mine, which is why I thought you had the same. Laughing
