Typically, just as I am trying to sell the D4 I can't find the service records!
How easy is it to get a new logbook, or is it not necessary these days?
It's a 2012 D4 and I have been told that LR don't have electronic records. I would be surprised if not, or is that because of the age of the car?
Thanks

Online service history starts with cars built sometime middle of 2013, before that the public history is only on paper in the form of the service book and dealer receipts.
That’s not quite the complete story though - every time someone connects the JLR SDD tool to your car it collects and transmits some information back to JLR (at least dealership name/location, odometer reading, etc.) That info, however, is not generally obtainable.
FWIW, I wouldn’t buy a car without a service book in the LR price class unless given significant rebate

Yeah, I guessed the car is worthless without a service history. I have receipts etc which are proof enough, I suppose.

Not quite worthless but certainly reduces the value. I might even be interested It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thank f for OSH!
My last service is listed!
Hurrah.
Presumably previous services could be added? Has anyone else done this?

TBH receipts are really useful since you can see what actually was done and paid for.
The one I’m driving now had one previous owner and the dealer gave me a stack of receipts to look through before the purchase so I’m reasonably confident of the car’s history.

After buying my 62 plate disco I had to get a replacement service book and have it stamped by the dealer as proof of services. I did also register for the OSH system and asked the dealer to put the details of all services. All was done easily although I do have to ask the dealer to ensure that the latest service is put on the system every time the car is serviced.

Every time mine has been serviced I’ve had to tell the dealer to put it online. Velar MY18 D180 S Narvik

Surely the receipts for all the work done, where, when, mileage, is better than a book with a stamp, mileage and date in it

I think that whatever form it takes, the proof of a FSH is what counts really.

I'd rather see the receipts - anyone can get a stamped up service book, it means nothing.
