Yes use an independent!
No manual reset I know of on a 2006.

There is a guy on ebay that is 'selling' the ability to remove the service light...And no, it's not me
I guess after you've paid him you might get an email saying 'take it to a dealer' Or is it possible to do it on some model years? Richard.
If it 'bongs' one more time, I'm gonna drive it off a cliff!

I'm sure someone on here bought something off ebay to reset your service indicator. I have had a look in my files because I'm sure the process was posted on here somewhere and I copied/downloaded it. I don't know what year it applied to, but if I find the file I will post it up here.
