Can be reset with any IID, not just linked to that car. Worth putting out a "Help, can someone local wield the power of the mighty widget?" call.

This worked for me prior to purchasing a tool
1. Switch ignition OFF
2. Press and hold the TRIP reset button on the instrument panel
3. Switch ignition ON to position I (accessories)
4. The display will light up, continue to press the TRIP reset button and switch ignition ON to position II
5. Release TRIP reset button when you see the word “SERVICE” flashing
6. Press and hold the TRIP reset button again when the word “SERVICE” stops flashing
7. You should now be able to cycle through DIST, DATE and END.
8. Choose DIST, then hold the TRIP reset button until you see the word RESET being displayed.
9. The word end will then appear, then the TRIP reset button should be pressed until the display shows the newly reset service intervals.

No but you were not asking about an IID tool - you wanted information on how to reset the service indicator. This is the cheapest and easiest way to do that.
If you want to do more than reset the service indicator then get the IID tool.
