If I clear the faults they come back as soon as I press the brake pedal. Which I guess makes sense if it's the solenoid?
I can get the shifter to move by removing the little cover and lifting the plastic lever. However I end up with transmission fault reduced gears message.
I've checked the wires from the Mechatronic to the gear selector specifically pins:
Continuity is good so I know the signal/power will get through. I can hear a click when I press the brake pedal it seems to come from around the Steering Wheel. I don't hear anything near the Gear selector (I thought I should because of the solenoid).
Any ideas?

Check resistance of solonoid
Sound like it’s faulty.

Could also be a faulty brake switch

PeteK is the solenoid a separate part to the gear selector housing or do I have to change the whole unit?
Aja4x4 I already changed the brake switch so know it’s not that

Any idea what the resistance value should be for the solenoid? I’m getting a reading of 27ohms

No, but it sounds ok.
Are you able to disconnect it and apply power directly ?
Get polarity correct incase it has a diode

Well I reseated the round mechatronic connector and all is working again!
Solenoid clicks and you can move out of park, really confused on why it’s done that???
Guess I have to see what happens over the next few days

sounds like poor connection over several pins (as you had 2 fault codes)

Hi Ironly,
Yes for me it was the Mechatronic connector under the car that plugs into the transmission.
Water ingress into the connector had caused some of the pins to corrode and the bits of rust were rattling around in the connector causing multiple issues!

Did you have to open gearbox sump and take of mechatronic?

No it was the connector that plugs into the socket. (See pic)
I had to splice a new connector on.
I'd start by checking the continuity of the cables, also park brake switch. What is the problem you have? Car stuck in park?

Hi
Is it possible that there are no other people with this fault....
I have 2 cars with the identical fault.... changed the mechatronic with a new one, changed the complete shifter, changed the gearbox wiring loom, changed the small wiring loom in the centre console.... and still the fault persists.... the voltage difference between the red and yellow wires is just 9V and I am sure its meant to be 12v
Regards
Josef

Josef,
Did you ever figure this out? This sounds a lot like the symptoms which I just posted (or at least like part of them):
