Shock Absorber change in air sus. Is it really so difficult?

Hello.-
I am referring to the change only of the shock absorber and not the air bag. I do not see the need to change the airbags when they are in perfect condition, they are not punctured, since I have never changed the springs when I changed dampers in other cars that I had with conventional suspension. It is so complicated to replace only shock absorbers? I have never seen anyone change them here, everybody always opt for the complete block and I think that is not funny... and no neccesary IMHO ..... some tutorial or some information about it would be very grateful. Do you know if the dealer makes this change? I know that they always opt for the simplest and most expensive option and if the client pays especially.

thanks in advance and happy spring to everybody?

Damper change

I was wondering this last week, and think it'd be a reasonable job. Personally I'd order a set of seals for the changeover of the airbags, and it looks straightforward enough when the unit is off the car and on the bench.
New Dampers have always made a noticeable difference when I've changed them.
Please update the thread when you've done it, and also which brand you went for. Thanks.

At 140k, is there much chance of successfully separating the bags from the dampers, and then having it all seal, or is just replacing the whole struts a better option?

Is this a case of just because you can doesnt mean you should?

Isnt the whole unit easier to change?
