I have been having a look at this too. The magnetic sheet come in white (which is okay for some!), but on top of this you can apply an adhesive vinyl. The vinyl comes in various colours, but I have been trying to see how expensive it would be to get it printed up.

The tricky thing would then be making a template.

Unfortunately work is getting in the way of this research.

Guys don't want to burst your bubble but:
I visited a off road acc. shop the other day and there were some of these magnetic protection kits lying on their shelves. When i asked the sales lady for a set for my D3 she said that the manufacturing company closed down and gave them the stock for free. Unfortunatly they didn't make sets for the D3. They said i can have a set for free to try. I took a set for a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado which also has a modern shape. Came home and tried it on but they wouldn't stick to the body. Tried them on my Wifes VW and they stuck well. So i figured that the D3 must have some alloy or aluminium body. Confused Any comments welcome. (just don't tell me its because the kit was ment for a Toyota Twisted Evil )

Mmmm Confused do you get different type of magnets maybe Question Like I said I tried it on the Mrs Caravelle and it stuck like Censored to a shoe. Maybe the type I had were different or something.

After lookin at the second pic , saw the problem. The prado has a high front fender. The top is on the disco's bonnet. Think I tried to stick the top to the bonnet Embarassed Will try again tomorrow going to bed now. Cheers.
