Side Steps for Disco 4
Can somebody recommend a supplier for side steps for a Disco 4? Have seen genuine Land Rover items at a very high price and after market items at a fraction of the cost (25%). Therefore I'm unsure as to whether the after market items would be of a good quality bearing in mind the cost disparity.
Thankyou.

If I was replacing mine, I'd be looking at Prospeed sliders, as much for the appearance as for the protection offered.
No idea how much they are, though.2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

I have bought a set for both my previous D3 and my current D4 from Direct 4x4
Never had an issue with them
The last set I bought 2 years ago for £150 and they are still ok
Website is www.direct4x4.co.uk
Hope this helps

Thanks for all your replies re side steps for my D4. If I can acquire these items early it will give me something to do during this lockdown. Did you have any problems removing the fasteners from the existing side members or would it be sensible to acquire the special tool (as seen in many youtube videos).
Thanks again

To be honest I had a look at the bolts holding the old steps and I wimped out and had a local garage remove the old steps and put the new ones on
I am glad I did as apparently the old ones were a pig to get off
Cost me about £80 for them to do it

Just replaced the steps on my RRS with those from Turborevs.
The kit was very comprehensive and of good quality.I did however just fit the steps onto my existing brackets as these were in good condition.
Liberal coating of copperslip to aid fitting and protection, and both were changed in a couple of hours.

Having tried to remove my genuine LR steps a couple of weeks ago after them being fitted for 4 years the quality of them isn't great. The fixing bolts mostly sheared even after a thorough soaking with Plusgas. Considering it doesn't really do much in the way of muddy fields etc and is most motorway miles the levels of rust underneath on the mounting brackets was very disappointing. I'll be replacing them with aftermarket, with the price differential you can almost treat them as consumable in comparison to the LR price2016 D4 Landmark - Waitomo
