silly question iPhone and bluetoothing

is there any way i can bluetooth music to my radio? I've been through the manuals etc and can't see a way to do it, its connected as a phone via bluetooth ( although car play doesn't seem to work ) but i can't find a way to stream music.. Very bloody frustrating MY10 D4 xs with touch screen nav but no tv

Any thoughts?

No, OEM it's a plug in iPod lead, Bluetooth is for phone calls only via a dedicated module, when it activates it switches the head unit to phone mode , have you an Aux input , you could add aftermarket unit?

As Beanie says, you can't do this natively with that age of D4 unfortunately.

I've just got a MY10 D4 XS too so have been through this same thing. In the end I bought a Bovee 1000 (Tune2Air) from Amazon for £74 plus a LR iPod to 32-pin iphone connector (£14). Plugged them into the iPod port in the glove box and was streaming music to the radio in seconds.

Doing it that way also allows some control via the steering wheel controls (skip / back etc.) but it's worth knowing that it'll start playing immediately once your phone pairs with it. I just make sure I've got Spotify or whatever open first with the relevant playlist.

All in all a simple but effective workaround to the limitation.

My solution to this was an old iPhone 4 connected to the curly lead and fixed under the cubby box lid. I just leave it in there full time. Thumbs Up

+1 for Graycats solution.

If you get the 'non-curly' lead you can double sided tape the lead and Tune2Air inside the cubby lid out of the way
