Simon's (dip stick) ball vote... |

As it says, what colour are they? For the pre-ramble to this, see http://disco3.web-rover.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=544

Martin,
I think I was the sad one who suggested a poll on members balls....
Don't wanna label BN as being the one after the ball data

I must refuse to make any comment on probable reasons for the colour distribution resulting from this poll. Now, back to the pool. Blue

My balls turned red after I played with them sooo much trying to work out if I had enough oil or not. Very hard to read are they?

Come on then folks, we only have about 15 votes out of 195 members, get your dip sticks out The reds are in the lead, can't have that, I may have to get a red balled dip stick if they win so that I am not in the minority. Its a bit like the software in the D3, all over the place.
What I want to also know, is it easier to read the red balls or the yellow ones etc We could sell the responce back to LR

Hi BN & Everyone
It looks like you will be soon getting your dipstick with red balls
Just checked my D3 this morning and mine are red, also its easy to see the oil level - had my D3 since early March just over 3,000 miles and have had to put in a ltr of oil so far.

BN / Gareth / Ecosse... when you get your pre heaters working you could all pre heat your balls ready for dipping

I think it would have been better if Land Rover had fitted "Multi Coloured Balls" to our dip sticks.
I mean what would be better than a Green Ball at the top, so you know your oil is full, a Yellow Ball in the middle to warn you to think about topping up, and a Red Ball at the bottom so you know its low on oil!
I reckon having balls all the same is a little tedious
Then again, what a brilliant way to get owners to check the oil, we all know where the dipstick is now
Do we have any female members of this forum?? if so, what is your opinion on multi coloured balls at the bottom of the dipstick?? Would it make it easier for you to check the state of the fluids??

I think that this is LR's celtic gene coming to the fore.
As a traditionally coloured celt, myself, I have always wondered why my hair is described as red......
I have just checked again, using artifical light, and my balls are definitely orange.
