SLAUGHTER OF 1500 DOLPHINS ON FAROE ISLES
just watched the channel 4 news who ran an item on this disgraceful act..it appears its an annual EVENT.
citizens claim its for food but the method of capture and slaughter ...sharp knife are obsence
HOW DO WE STOP IT ?

My daughter has sponsored 'Rainbow' for fifteen years. We went on holiday to the Black Isle to see any dolphins and they were out. How shellfish.
I'm not saying my mother-in-law is fat but when she had a swim it took fifteen attempts to get out of the sea - every time she tried to get out, Greenpeace pushed her back in.

The islanders claim it is killing for food. If so, then fair enough, so long as they are eating as much of the animals as possible. It's an interesting question as to whether 50,000 people eat 1,500 dolphins in a year.

The people involved are supposed to be licenced and trained in how to kill as quickly and humanely as possible. but there are suggestions that it is a bit of a free for all with people using power tools to try to kill the dolphins. Certainly some of the injuries look more like propeller damage than humane dispatching.

As I say, if they are doing it properly and are going to eat all of the meat, then I can see an argument for it - is it any different to eating a cow, pig , deer or a pheasant? In all cases, humane dispatch is essential.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
