I hope Waylander also got the four alloy strips that align the runners before they bolt to the floor. Bit of a faff to get smooth running without.

I had a bid in at £150ish.

However, as it's essentially 2 floor rails with a carpet covered board on top, I reckon I can make one for about £120, so I was out at anything above that.

hi

i also wondered that ref making one, something like using some 18mm exterior plywood with some heavy duty sliding rails

think the rails may take some searching to find ones that are correctly rated

didn’t realise they go for that much second hand

Great. All you need now is the spare wheel lowering modification and you are away!

The floor covers the point where one screws the spare wheel winch. Not only do you have to empty the whole load area, you have to lift out the floor as well!!!

So I modified the screw point. D3 was a big nut, which was easy, but D4 is a loop into which the jack handle hooks to do the screw. So I modified both to accept a 1/4" socket drive. A short extension stays fitted, and another passes through a small hole in the appropriate spot when the floor is slid in. Then a ratcher loweres and raises with a minimal rearrange of contents needed.

I did a thread about it some years ago. I think there were even pictures, as the D4 mod is a bit difficult to describe.

Can you take some detailed pics of it and how it mounts to the car. Might look at getting someone to knock something together.

Brucey, I made one for a D3 in 2007 and have included a hinged lift up section to access the tools storage and lowering point for the spare wheel (in a 5 seater) with photo details here. https://disco3.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=1001

Hope this helps

I use one of these Wind-O-Matic gadgets under my sliding floor. I just leave a socket and small ext bar on permanently and as it is so far back its easy to just pop the ratchet on just uner the back edge of the sliding floor. Works a treat Thumbs Up
