Slightly rattling dash.... |
|
Bit of a tricky one this, but I've not yet seen a question that the collective couldn't answer so here goes.....
I have an intermittent rattling / tapping noise coming from my dashboard which I think comes from around the same area as the central front speaker. I say intermittent because it's there most of the time, but when I took the car into my dealer it had stopped.
When I picked the car up it was back and with a vengeance so I turned round at the first set of lights ( about a mile away) but by the time I'd got back to the dealership it had gone again. (sort of & ).
Well, it's back again now. It happens whenever I go over the slightest bump but I can't recreate it when the vehicle is stationary. Trouble is, it's started to drive me a bit mad because it's one of those noises that you keep listening out for and then once it's happened you're kind of tuned into it and so can hear it over the radio, even though any sane person couldn't.
Apologies if this sounds a bit mental, but any suggestions for a solution would be very gratefully received.
Thanks,
M

The trick is to have another body in the motor with you to help narrow it down...or take back to the dealer and get him to balance on the dash 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Or have someone drive you around so you can find it... best way as your tuned to the sound. My family refuse to hear it... but its there over the right road surfaces
