Smoke from engine bay ? Stealers

OK I have some smoke not a lot from engine bay .... with all the covers it is diff to see from where - not very blue / black more light grey - not runnning warm - but is the gauge like VW stable until you hit the high temps and then just UP.

Any help ?

Also Nico left Midrand LR - any feedback on Menlyn LR ? maybe i should try them ?

My last service under extended MP ?

Tx

Is your air temperature low enough to have the fuel burning heater stating up? It is just behind the left (as you sit in vehicle) headlight and exhaust goes out ahead of wheel.

Hey - that would not be difficult today! A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Yes, grzesiul, windows generally open anyway. Lets one breath the fresh highland air.

Nico,

The first I knew of a small diesel leak was with a little smoke coming from the engine. Is there any smell with it?

In my case, I could see the diesel pooling around one of the injectors. It was nothing too serious, just an O ring on the return from the injector, but it did mean the whole pipework replacing. Cost was more on time than on parts.

Midrand are still OK - Dewalt and his tech team, whilst a little more on the serious side than Nico, are very very capable.

A little smoke may not be a good thing even in a Diesel. Check my post - http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic51788.html?highlight=Fire

VacPac Oil Seal, common cause with ALL those that also have had Oil in the Vaccum Pipes. I had this, and the hazy vapour was coming from the rear LH of the engine......It drips down onto the Manifolds and block burning off.

Worth a check
